Big Fred makes “big splash” at Okeechobee

Our man Big Fred Contaoi made a big splash at FLW Wal-Mart tournament at Lake Okeechobee this week — unfortunately it wasn’t for a giant sack of bass.
Fishing was tough and Fred finished up in 172nd place but he went out with a big finish on his final day by falling out of the boat — in front of several other boats.
In the photo, the master of ceremonies is asking Fred — all in good fun — about the incident.
“I was reaching down to grab a rope,” laughed Fred. “And the finish on my boat is so shiny, so slick that when my rain gear touched it, I went right on in — just like a seal.”
Big Boy was in good spirits after the event. He said he had an absolute blast and is excited about the next tournament, which is the first stop on the FLW Tour at Lake Travis in Austin, TX Feb. 15-18.
“I’m headed that way on Monday,” he said. “Can’t wait!”
