Better than a Squawfish! (Smoker of the Year Contest entry)

This Smoker of the Year Contest entry comes from Curt Wilson, a student at Humboldt State University in Arcata, CA, who threw his buddy, Ted (pictured), under the bus with this one.
Wilson writes:
“I have been thinking about what fish to send you for this contest and this is the one. This was our last drift of the year on the South Fork Eel. This was the only fish of the day besides one squaw fish. Ted appreciates every fish he
catches…just look at that smile. P.S. Thanks for the online mag, now I get no school work done ever.”
Since first place in our contest wins a free guided spawned out steelhead trip, we may have to change the rules a bit if these guys win…seems they already have catching kelts down to a science. Maybe we’d do a carp trip with corn and floats…

Send us your darkest fish pictures! The winning entry will be picked by a completely biased panel of river rats, pirates and poachers and the “Smoker of the Year” will win a free fishing trip with me…(maybe for downer steelhead or something along those lines!).
