New Ewok village under construction??

Okay, so it may look like the home of those fuzzy little guys in Return of the Jedi, but this is actually the new bridge being built over the South Fork of the Eel River at Confusion Hill in Humboldt County, CA.

The existing section of Highway 101 at Confusion Hill has been plagued by major mud and rock slides for years, isolating the coast from the inland Valley during major winter storms. The 300-foot high span will cost over $60 million when it’s completed but the road clearing and maintenance costs saved will help the state recoup the money in just 10 years.
