With no salmon, other species will feel extra pressure in 08
April 13, 2008
With California’s ocean salmon season now shut down for all of 2008 and rockfish seasons getting more and more restrictive, many saltwater anglers will be turning to California halibut in and around the major bays.
The good news is the fishing inside San Francisco Bay is already going strong and it looks like it will be a productive summer of action. But I worry about the added pressure these fish are going to be subjected to. That’s one of the additional impacts the salmon closure is going to have.
Halibut, surgeon, rockfish, tuna and stripers are really going to feel the sting this year and I just hope they can handle it…
