7X tippet and a No. 22 Zebra Midge?

Here I am with a big Alaskan ‘bow caught by a client of mine on the Nushagak River while we were backtrolling a “California Watermelon” K-15 Kwikfish on 60-lb. mono leader. So much for cobweb tippets and matching the hatch…

Yea, you know, I look pissed in the photo…the truth of the matter is, however, I was struggling to hang onto the fish. She was extremely strong and was trying her best to commit suicide by dropping into the boat. I was feeling a little panicky about that prospect.

It short the look I my face can be summed up thusly:

    “Take the #$&@$# picture already!”

You know, JD, that grimmace on your face right there would be perfect to go with a “Smoker of the Year” entry. However, I don’t see why you’re not grinning from ear to ear holding a hog like that.

As Borat say: “Is Nice! Great Success!”
