The Perfect Storm on Lake Tahoe

September 21, 2007 By JD 3 Comments

Here’s what we found at the boat ramp on Friday morning at Lake Tahoe. Needless to say, we didn’t fish.

The video’s a little dark since it was 6 AM…(and shot on a cheesy point-and-shoot still camera) the clients really, really wanted to fish, so we loaded up and made a 3-hour drive straight from there down to the Delta. Before we left the mountains, however, I shot a couple more photos…

I knew it was going to be bad when I stepped out of the house (about 1/2 mile from the water) in the morning and heard the roar of surf. With 3-foot breakers, you couldn’t have launched…even if you were crazy enough to try.

Unfortunately, some boats had a tough time in the storm…

That photo of the boat dock is seriously pretty dang good.

The sunrise and the ocean-like waves make a neat contrast.

Should submit it to your local fair and see if you can get a ribbon.
