Light Tackle Surf Perch ebook cover
You guys know me… I love my salmon and steelhead but I have a huge soft spot in my heart for catching perch off the beach… So fun on light gear!!

I get a lot of comments on my perch posts and emails with questions from folks about surfperch fishing, so I decided to put together this how-to eBook that shows you everything you need to catch these fun little buggers! It’s now available on Amazon/Kindle and Nook (iPad and iPhone soon too!).

Available as an ebook only? I like to read books on paper and use a phone without a screen that plugs into the wall of my house. I’d buy a print version in a heartbeat. Will there be a hard copy available in the near future?

Drew, there’s a chance we go “real book” with this at some point. I’ll keep ya posted. Thanks! And please tell me that phone you have is the rotary type. That would be so awesome. I remember those as a kid. It always sucked when you had to dial a 9 or 0 because it took so long! :)

My tackle includes a converted fly rod used with a small spinning reel. The long pole lets me throw out the line further. Also, instead of live bait, I use an oil can grub on a hook that already has a split shot on it. This gives me the opportunity not only to catch surf perch but also practice my fly fishing techniques.
