After all the gloom and doom, we finally have some good news for West Coast salmon stocks!
I’ve been saying that the major factor in our sharp decline recently has been a lack of feed in the ocean. Apparently, I was on the right track. Read the story HERE

This is great news! What will happen when these favorable ocean conditions turn for the worse again in the future (in four years or less according to the artlcle)? Will the fish numbers be so low that F&G will be forced to close salmon fishing down again?
Do you believe (as I do) that a cleaner, healthier, less water deprived delta would be able to make up for the bad times in the good/bad ocean condition cycle that we have no control over? We do have the ability to control our delta.
Just wondering what your thoughts were. It scares the hell out of me to think that every 3-5 years salmon fishing will be closed for 2-3 years (no basis for the time line of this cycle, just an example).
