Giant Lake Shasta Spotted Bass not far off World Record!

April 4, 2011 By JD 9 Comments

A new Lake Shasta record for spotts!

Our old friend Scott Green is one of the top bass anglers in all of California. If you ever see his name in a tournament you’re fishing at places like Clear Lake, Berryessa or Shasta, start thinking about second place! To prove my point, check out these massive spotted bass from Lake Shasta he just caught, including a new lake record 8.85 pounder, which is a pound and change off the World Record!

Nice work, dude!

Nice fish, I caught a spot on Shasta in a tournament with Shasta Cascade Bass Anglers in 2001, it was a #7.03

Nice Bass Scott….I hope to land a Five plus pound fish this year…(Spotted Bass). Went twice in the first two weeks of january…Got six fish out of my raft…Just as the sun was setting…second trip in the big boat January 13th…got 23 fish…best was a 2.75 # pound fish.. But not bad for january!

Those are Donkey sized spotted bass. Good job. My Biggest at shasta is only a 3 pounder..but just started fishing the lake two summers ago….looking at your photos….i do not doubt that the World Record could be there….

Nice spots! My best so far is a 7.11 pounder caught near Packers Bay in Jan 2009…
Released a nice 16.5″ fish last week from Salt Ck….Probably went near 5 lbs…

    Tight lines!
