Took my kid out one afternoon last week on the Sacramento River, where he caught his first-ever salmon.
He fought the fish all by himself and the only thing I did was hold the back of his life jacket so he didn’t get yanked over the side.

I felt like that when my son killed his first Dall Sheep at age 10. It surpassed all other hunters I have guided. Congratulations to you both for a moment not to be forgotten!
The sheer joy of the boy catching his own fish is immeasurable. I am waiting for the time when I can bring my two 3yrs old grandsons fishing.
