I put my iPhone up on the bow looking backward and got some cool shots of a nice wave coming over the bow. Fun!
Southern Oregon’s Umpqua River pumped out this ridiculous steelhead Monday, Jan. 14 for some buddies of Chuck Gross, El Presidente of Pavati Marine.
Chucky said that the beast measured a massive 42.5 inches but the guys didn’t get a girth, so estimating the weight is a crapshoot (it was released). However, it’s safe to say that it’s no-doubter mid 20’s…and if you told me it was close to 30 pounds, I wouldn’t disagree.
Apparently, the guy who hooked it handed Moby off to his less experienced buddy before realizing how big the fish was!
What an amazing creature! I just wish they got a better photo (sans towel).
Here is a little un-edited video shot by Ron Milam, who was sitting in the backseat of the ol’ Pavati a few days back as we ran some white stuff on the Klamath River. Despite Dale Milam’s screams (kids, put your earmuffs on), no anglers were hurt in the filming of this video…
Ookay everybody, be on the lookout for a black Pavati drift boat…one was stolen at around 2 AM from out in front of the Medford, OR Sportsmen’s Warehouse.
Security cameras showed a white van backing up to the store and then two men got out with bolt cutters and cut the chains that secured the vessel to the building. Local police arrived just after the thieves fled the scene.
Contact Chuck Gros at Pavati Marine (800) 866-5269 with any information. He’s offering up a reward of $1,000 to anybody with info that leads to the apprehension of the criminals and the recovery of the boat.
