Alabama Rig Ban Grows

Add yet another place to the list of waters where the controversial Alabama Rig is now illegal…all of the freshwater in the state of New Hampshire. The “Live Free or Die” State joins Ohio, Tennessee and Minnesota in banning the rig. It’s also illegal to use in parts of many other states and I’m sure we have not heard the last of this!

    I am wondering if it would work if set up with a center line about a foot to 18 inches longer than the others attached to a lure with a hook and the shorter ones with just flashers 0r similar baits but no hooks?

      Keith, yes that is how the original umbrella rig was designed. They still troll em a lot back East for stripers and bluefish. You wouldn’t want to try casting that rig you described however.
